Meibomian Gland Probing/Decongestion
Meibomian gland probing is a relatively new technique which involves using a small wire probe to gently unblock any obstructions in the oil producing glands in your eyelid.
It is effective in relieving dry eye symptoms caused by meibomian gland dysfunction and also at relieving tenderness of the eyelid caused by increased pressure in the gland behind an obstruction.
We strongly recommend that this treatment is combined with IPL – research shows the combination of the two treatments is more effective than either individually and the need for re-treatment is reduced. The pricing above includes 2 x MGP appointments followed by IPL with Dr Martin Smith over a 10 week period. Alternative treatments may be recommended
at the Dry Eye Consultation with Dr Smith.
